LOGIC at SONY Roadshow "Live Your Vision

SONY informed about new products and solutions for the broadcast industry as part of its roadshow "Live Your Vision". It was a pleasure for us as partner and Center of Excellence for Nevion solutions to inform about the topics Remote and Distributed Production and SDN at the roadshow of SONY in Cologne, Munich and Berlin. Thank you very much for the invitation and the cooperation!

When producing and distributing media content in networks, SDN is an important topic for securing signals and managing production. Nevion offers with its network orchestration tool VideoIPath a proven system to control complete media networks and orchestrate the services running on them. This allows users to make optimal use of all important resources, be it bandwidth, equipment or functionalities.

Together with Nevion, LOGIC has already completed several important infrastructure projects in which SDN also played a role, such as the renewal of the MPE units of ARD and ZDF, the new building of Axel Springer in Berlin or the Media Broadcast Backbone. We also work together with Nevion in the area of research. Together, we are working on the EU 5G-VIRTUOSA project, which uses practical examples to research how 5G mobile communications can be combined with virtualization concepts from the IT industry to produce live content (e.g., sports or music broadcasts) more efficiently and cost-effectively at different locations to meet growing consumer demand.
