LOGIC Develops Innovative Ingest Solution for Live Cloud Productions with Mimir

Logic media solutions GmbH has successfully developed an innovative solution to enable efficient and seamless ingest in a live cloud production environment with Mimir. This advancement represents a significant leap forward for modern media production workflows, optimizing the processing and management of live content in the cloud.

Mimir, the advanced cloud-native media management platform, offers extensive capabilities for storing, managing, and editing video content. With Logic’s newly developed solution, live content can now be ingested into Mimir in real time, making it immediately available for further processing, archiving, or distribution. This not only reduces latency but also significantly enhances efficiency and flexibility in live production.

The architecture of live cloud production with Mimir Kelda is based on a combination of AWS services and powerful software solutions that ensure a reliable and efficient ingest process. The workflow begins with an SRT encoder at the event location, which converts the live signal into an SRT stream. This stream is transmitted to the cloud via AWS Elemental MediaConnect, where it is prepared for further processing.

Within an AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), multiple EC2 instances handle the processing.

An NDI Discovery Server manages the available NDI streams, while an NDI Bridge establishes connections between local and remote sources. The Vision Mixer enables real-time video mixing before Mimir Kelda processes and transcodes the video. This modular structure allows for flexible adaptation to various production requirements.

The processed content is then stored in an Amazon S3 Bucket, where it remains available for further use. Automated workflows, managed via AWS Step Functions, optimize metadata management and media processing. Additionally, integration with Trint enables automatic transcription of live content, further enhancing the overall workflow.

Another key feature of this architecture is remote access. Through PORTAL, users can access the system from anywhere.  PORTAL ensures reliable control and automation of production processes by linking various AWS services.

Thanks to seamless integration with Mimir, stored and processed content is efficiently made available for archiving, management, and distribution. This provides media companies with a powerful, scalable, and future-proof solution for their live productions.
